A Midsummer
Night’s Dream

March 15-23, 2024

Tickets available now!

Come join Gunn Theatre for drama, music, and hijinks this March when we open Shakespeare’s lively comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Set in New Orleans circa 2018, soul mates Lysander and Hermia must flee the city into the bayou because Hermia’s father demands she marry Demetrius. Demetrius follows Hermia, and poor Helena follows Demetrius. While in the woods, the king of the fairies and his mischievous assistant, Puck, get involved in the lovers’ quarrel to a hilarious and catastrophic end. Mix in some amateur actors preparing a play for Duke Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding day, and you have a highly entertaining production not to be missed!

Please join us for a special Opening Night Gala, which will feature:

  • a brief and engaging talk by the illustrious Tim Farrell at 6:30 pm

  • opening night performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at 7:00pm

  • Mardi Gras-themed celebration in the Spangenberg Courtyard after the show, with desserts, snacks, drinks, music and entertainment. All audience members, cast, and crew are cordially invited to join in the fun!
