Something Rotten!

May 21-23, 2021

Gunn Theatre is excited to present the Broadway hit musical comedy Something Rotten! Set in 1595, the story follows the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, who struggle to find theatrical success while competing with their wildly popular contemporary, William Shakespeare. The musical opened on Broadway in 2015 and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Gunn students have created a full-length feature film of the musical which you can watch any time from Friday 5/21 @6:00PM to Sunday 5/23 @11:45PM. Please note, the video is unavailable to view after 11:45PM on Sunday 5/23, and the link closes at 9:30PM that night. The show is free of charge but donations are very much appreciated to help offset production costs. With glorious production numbers, rich costumes, and the most delightful musical score imaginable, this hilarious sendup of professional jealousy is filmed all around Gunn's campus for a Gunn Spring Musical like nothing we've ever seen! This giddy celebration of the creative spirit comes at exactly the right time to buoy our spirits as we emerge from this most challenging of years. You certainly won't want to miss Something Rotten!.
