Robots vs.

Fake Robots

November 5-13, 2021

It’s Mean Girls meets Brave New World. The year is 6000 AD and robots have taken over the planet. People, or "Peetles" as robots call them, barely survive on the fringes of civilization and are destroyed if discovered by the ultra-popular, and monstrously cruel robots. Every so often a human decides to forsake their fate and strives to “become” a robot. A fake robot. Come join us for David Largman Murray’s dark, comic science-fiction tale about a man who does everything he can to join a group that will destroy him. Rated PG-13 for mature themes and language.

Play in a Day

December 18, 2021

Gunn Theatre alumni and current students come together to rehearse and perform ten-minute plays in one 24 hour period! Authors write their play overnight, and the following day everyone rehearses until showtime at 7:00 that evening. The results are always astonishing and often miraculous!

Comedy of Errors

March 18-26, 2022

Antipholus, and his family, and Dromio, his servant, reside in the town of Ephesus. Little do they know that their long-lost twins (yes, both Antipholus and Dromio have long-lost twins WITH THE SAME NAMES) have come to Ephesus looking for their long-lost siblings! With two sets of twins, the story becomes a zany tale of mistaken identity, or one might say--  a comedy of errors. Shakespeare steals this plot from Roman Comedy and creates a tale of a town and a beautiful story of reunion and family.

Spring Festival

May 12-15, 2022

Spring Festival consists of four student-directed works from seniors in the Gunn Theatre department. This year, there are two comedies and two student-written works (one of which is a musical!)

The Laramie Project

November 6-14, 2020

Gunn Theatre is proud to tell the story of Matthew Shephard, a gay college student who was kidnapped and beaten by two men, tied to a fence, and left to die in the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. The play is based on over 200 interviews with Laramie residents. With a cast of 17 performers playing more than 75 roles, Gunn's powerful online production uses innovative storytelling to try to make sense of this hateful and violent incident, which has if anything become even more relevant and important today. This is a hard-hitting and unforgettable show -- one you won't want to miss!
